Key Features

The Robert Sorby Round End Swivel Tip is an excellent choice for removing waste material very quickly – especially undercutting and with added wear resistance of its TIN coating. A true work horse designed for the multi-tip hollowing tool but suitable for a range of Robert Sorby tools (see below).
Titanium Nitride (TiN): TiN is bonded onto quality HSS. It provides the same advantages as HSS whilst enhancing the cutting life to close to that of tungsten carbide. Use the same traditional sharpening equipment used for HSS. Sharpens to 0.15 – 0.2 microns. Hardness of coating up to 85 RC. Material:Titanium nitride coated M2 HSS.
This cutter is also available in high speed steel.
Sharpening: Use a diamond file or honing stone around the profile of the cutter. To gain best results and increase the longevity of the cutter this simple procedure should be done little and often.
Please note, cutters can be sharpened using the Robert Sorby 472 tip holder.
