The SawStop brake cartridge for 8″” Dado blades stops the spinning blade on contact with skin reducing the chances of a catastrophic injury. It is compatible with all standard 8″ Dado sets up to 29/32″ thick. The lightning fast microprocessor is always sensing for a drop in the voltage coming from the blade. It activates the safety system within 5 milliseconds once it detects contact with skin.

• The RS232 port plugs the brake cartridge into the saw, sending the signal to the blade and acting as the interface between the microprocessor and the saw.
• Additionally, the mylar debris shield insulates the aluminium brake from metal particles, helping to avoid triggering an activation when cutting through nails, staples, or screws. The heavy-duty spring, held under 68kg of pressure, pushes the aluminium block into the path of the blade, stopping it within 5 milliseconds.
• We suggest keeping an extra brake cartridge on-hand in case of a contact event. Simply replace the blade and cartridge and you’re back to work in no time at all.
