Key Features

The Robert Sorby Side End Swivel Tip is designed to create parallel sides on boxes and vases. This flexible cutter will also create flat surfaces on the bottom of pieces as well as crisp corners. TIN coating provides additional wear resistance increasing the lifetime of the cutter.
Titanium Nitride (TiN): TiN is bonded onto quality HSS. It provides the same advantages as HSS whilst enhancing the cutting life to close to that of tungsten carbide. Use the same traditional sharpening equipment used for HSS. Sharpens to 0.15 – 0.2 microns. Hardness of coating up to 85 RC. Material:Titanium nitride coated M2 HSS.
This cutter is also available in high speed steel.
Sharpening: Use a diamond file or honing stone around the profile of the cutter. To gain best results and increase the longevity of the cutter this simple procedure should be done little and often.
Please note, cutters can be sharpened using the Robert Sorby 472 tip holder.
