The Robert Sorby ProEdge offers effortlessly repeatable sharpening every time. Hugely versatile, this industrial strength machine is built to last and delivers astounding ‘factory finish’ results without fail. Of these, the following are included in both the PE01 Basic and PED01 Deluxe ProEdge Kits:

• PE120A Alumninium Oxide Abrasive Sharpening Belt, 120grit
• PE60Z Zirconium Abrasive Sharpening Belt, 60grit

And in addition, the folllowing are included in the PED01 Deluxe ProEdge Kit and these accessories also make up this Ugrade Kit (PEWTKIT):

• Fingernail Profile Kit – ideal for shaping a perfect fingernail profile on bowl and spindle gouges

• ProSet (WPROSET): Helps you achieve the exact bevel angle on any fingernail or long grind gouge when used in cunjunction with the fingernail profiling arm.
• Fingernail Profile Kit (WPEFPKIT): The fingernail profiling kit is ideal for shaping a perfect fingernail profile on bowl and spindle gouges.
• Skew Jig (WPESKEW): For accurate sharpening of woodturning skew chisels.
• Standard Gouge Jig (WPEVB): Allows easy sharpening of all standard ground woodturning gouges.
• Ceramic Belts (WPE60C and WPE120C): This hardwearing material is a great choice for profiling and re-profiling damaged tools.
• We have selected these belts because they use an even cut rate and give a vastly prolonged belt life over standard abrasive belts. This produces knives and tools with consistent honed bevels and incredibly sharp cutting edges. As with all abrasives, the belts should always be used in the order of grit from the coarsest to the finest. This is to maximise the efficiency of each belt and to achieve the best possible results.

Guide to angles for the angles setter and recommended tools:

• 15 degrees - Skew chisels.
• 20 degrees - Main bevel angle for bevel edge woodworking chisels (soft wood). Bevel angle for parting tools.
• 25 degrees - Honing angle for bevel edge chisels (soft wood). Main bevel angle for bevel edge chisels (hard wood) and bench plane irons. Standard carving chisels and gouges.
• 30 degrees - Honing angle for bevel edge chisels (hard wood) and bench plane irons. Main bevel angle for mortice, registered and framing chisels.
• 35 degrees - Honing angle for mortice, registered and framing chisels.
• 45 degrees - Bevel angle for roughing, spindle and bowl gouges.
• 60 degrees - Bevel angle for bowl gouges (deep bowl turning).
• 80 degrees - Clearance angle for scraper tools and cutters.
• 90 degrees - Shear scrapers and shear scraper cutters.
