The special profile of this tool reduces the risk of binding in the cut. It also reduces the amount of heat build up caused by friction, thereby lessening the chance of burning the bottom of the parted project
Many turners prefer to turn their tool handles to their own specifications. For those turners we offer the un-handled versions of Sorby's standard turning tools. These High Speed Steel (HSS) un-handled blades are identical to the ones found on the handled versions.
